Meet Dorie

Dorie’s story began at Helen Woodward Animal Center, where she was rescued and given a second chance at a beautiful life. At just five months old, she found her forever home with Katie, and from that moment on, everything changed.

With her bright eyes and endlessly curious spirit, Dorie sees the world as one big adventure. She loves to sniff every corner on her walks, taking in all the little details most of us pass by. To Dorie, every leaf, breeze, and new scent is something to explore and understand.

Her gentle, thoughtful nature and playful personality quickly made her more than just a pet—she became a source of inspiration. Dorie is the heart behind Katie’s creative work, serving as the muse for the book and the message it shares: to slow down, stay curious, and embrace who you are.
